TLDSB students attend the 2025 Haliburton-Muskoka-Kawartha Children’s Water Festival

On October 7 and 8, about 800 Grade 4 to 6 students from schools across Trillium Lakelands District School Board travelled to the Kinark Outdoor Centre in Minden to take part in a day of learning about water ecology and stewardship at the 2025 Haliburton-Muskoka-Kawartha Children’s Water Festival.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the festival featured 35 outdoor activity stations, each with a focus on water conservation, technologies, and protecting the ecologies of watersheds. These hands-on stations were run by partner organizations, including Kawartha Conservation, the Township of Minden Hills Fire and Emergency Services, Turtle Guardians, Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, and many more.

A huge shout out to the volunteers that make this day possible, including students from Trent University and Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.
